Built Environment Consulting Services (Becs-nz) was started in 2016 in order to provide ongoing architectural consulting services to the built environment sector.

Jay Allison established the company and has international experience in mechanical engineering design on heavy duty earth moving equipment, architectural design in the residential, religious, commercial, sports and industrial sectors.

The company offers Built Environment Consulting Services to the public and has worked on several projects in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.

Jay served the mechanical engineering design industry for 16 years at an international manufacturing company (Bell Equipment) that produces heavy-duty mining, forestry, and agricultural machinery. and joined the architectural industry in 2009 during the great economic downturn.

He has completed an associate degree in architecture from the San Francisco Institute of Architecture.

Since 2009, he has completed over 250 architectural plans in the residential, commercial, religious, and industrial sectors. He has worked with and for large corporate companies locally and internationally. He has worked on large projects in Melbourne, Rangiora, Rolleston, Christchurch and various other towns across New Zealand.

He had the privilege of working for the Summerset Group, Miyamoto International, Gravitas, Warren Mahoney and Frontier Engineers.

Over the last three years he has completed a number of high spec log homes across New Zealand in collaboration with a local log home company.

He is a registered professional member of ADNZ and a licensed building practitioner.
